The first!

Well, this is it. My very first blog, so bare with me as I figure this out. I'm starting a blog because of the children's book I wrote titled "Little Chief". I wrote the short children's book almost 2 years ago. I woke up one morning, it came to me and wrote it in about an hour. Of course since then, it's been refined, but it's pretty much the way I originally wrote it. I did nothing with it for about 6 months. Then one day, while sitting with a dear friend of mine Charlotte, who is a brilliant writer, we starting talking about children's books. To her surprise, I told her I had written one. I shared it with her and there it began. She encouraged me to get it published and offered her assistance since I had no clue on what was involved or what I was getting myself into. No clue was exactly right. Writing the book was the easy part. I have spent countless hours reading and researching, writing queries and submission requests, weighing publishing options and coming up with marketing strategies. It's a journey, a long one for sure, but I'm excited about the destination.
